Attorney Dan Deuterman is a Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law. This designation is a testament to his expertise, performance as attorneys and reputation in the legal community.
The N.C. State Bar, through the Board of Legal Specialization, determines which attorneys statewide become board certified specialists. To become legal specialists, attorneys are required to have practiced a minimum of five years, undergo peer review by other attorneys and judges, participate in continuing legal education in the subject matter and pass a board exam.

In 2008, attorney Ben Burnside was admitted to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a prestigious association of trial lawyers. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million dollar or multimillion dollar verdicts, awards or settlements for their clients. Less than 1 percent of attorneys in the United States are members of the forum.
In 2011, attorney Dan Deuterman was admitted to the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a prestigious association of trial lawyers. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million dollar verdicts, awards or settlements for their clients.
In the summer of 2011, Dan Deuterman received two awards from his peers in the legal community for his work fighting against legislation to change North Carolina’s workers’ compensation laws.
The N.C. Advocates for Justice, a professional organization for attorneys, presented Dan with the prestigious Ebbie Bailey Award. The award is given annually for exceptional service and commitment to the NCAJ, in keeping with Ebbie Bailey’s legacy.
Dan also received a second award from the workers’ compensation section of the NCAJ for his “extraordinary service rendered to the section in furtherance of the preservation of justice for injured workers in North Carolina.”
For the five years running, the Deuterman Law Group has been selected as one of North Carolina’s most family-friendly workplaces by Carolina Parenting.
