A Deuterman Law Group attorney, Zach Marquand has earned the status of Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law. This designation is a testament to his expertise, his performance on behalf of clients and his reputation in the legal community.
N.C. State Bar, through the Board of Legal Specialization, determines which attorneys statewide become board-certified specialists. To become legal specialists, attorneys are required to have practiced for a minimum of five years. They also must undergo peer review by other attorneys and judges, participate in continuing legal education in the subject matter and pass a board exam.
N.C. State Bar offers this certification as a service to the public by helping them identify lawyers who are most qualified to represent them. Board certified attorneys have demonstrated special knowledge, skill and proficiency in a particular area of the law.
The Deuterman Law Group is proud to have another of its attorneys achieve board certification.
DLG president and founder Dan Deuterman, as well as associate attorney Casey S. Francis, are also Board Certified Specialists in Workers’ Compensation. DLG attorney Ben Burnside is board certified in Social Security Disability law.
Marquand earned his Juris Doctor with honors from UNC School of Law in 2012 and joined the Deuterman Law Group the following year. He heads the firm’s in-house ethics committee, and also is committed to pro bono work and community service. Marquand also serves on the Amicus Committee for the N.C. Advocates for Justice. The Amicus Committee reviews requests for help on appeals that are going to the U.S. Court of Appeals or N.C. Supreme Court.
