Senior Paralegal Profile: Holden
Interviewer: Hey there, Holden.
Holden: Hello.
Interviewer: How’s it going?
Holden: Good.
Interviewer: Tell me what your position is here at Deuterman Law Group.
Holden: I’m a senior paralegal in the Veterans Disability department.
Interviewer: So tell me what you do as a senior paralegal and how’s it different from a paralegal?
Holden: So paralegals are responsible for providing excellent customer service to our clients and helping our clients navigate the VA appeals process and get the attorneys everything that they need to meet their deadlines. A senior paralegal does all of those same duties in addition to training and equipping our junior staff members to be the best that they can be in their individual roles.
Interviewer: So how long have you been here?
Holden: I’ve been here for three and a half years.
Interviewer: And were you trained as a paralegal before you came here?
Holden: I was not. I received all my training on the job.
Interviewer: What did you do before Deuterman Law Group?
Holden: I was an intelligence specialist on active duty in the US Coast Guard.
Interviewer: Wow. For how long?
Holden: It was four years.
Interviewer: So you are actually a veteran.
Holden: I am.
Interviewer: What are some things that you love about Deuterman Law Group?
Holden: Well, I love the fast-pace, upbeat work environment, and I love the events that we put on for our staff, like our annual Christmas party.
Interviewer: Ah, is that your favorite?
Holden: Yes
Interviewer: What do you love about that?
Holden: I just love getting together at the end of the year and celebrating all the hard work that we’ve done.
Interviewer: Sweet. Thank you.
Holden: You’re welcome.
