Attorney – Personal Injury Attorney

Qualifications

  • Must be a member and in good standing with the N.C. State Bar or able to waive in.
  • Three or more years’ experience in Personal Injury law, both pre-litigation and litigation. Litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience interacting with and building relationships with clients.
  • Can quickly spot issues, with the ability to evaluate and build strategies for cases that may need to be litigated.
  • Strong time-management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment focusing on teamwork.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Upbeat with a can-do attitude; must be able to work independently and have a desire to assume significant responsibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the interests of the clients at all stages of their case. This will involve all aspects of client communication, including in person meetings, telephone conferences, and through all stages of litigation.
  • Review and analyze medical evidence, medical records, investigative records and reports, legal documents, statutes and case law.
  • Engage in legal writing and research including motions and responses, briefs, and appeals.
  • Litigate claims at all stages of the case, including discovery, depositions, mediation, negotiations, hearings, and trials.
  • Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for the presentation of the case.
  • Locate insurance and investigate additional sources of insurance coverage.
  • Engage in trial advocacy including taking testimony of lay and expert witnesses, conducting discovery, mediating claims, and guiding clients through the litigation process.
  • Supervise and work with all members of the personal injury team.

Qualifications

  • AAS or BS – Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field (equivalent background experience will be considered).
  • Basic Networking knowledge (Wired and Wireless) – VLANs, Firewall rules, etc.
  • Microsoft A+ or other computer certifications desired.
  • Proven interest and passion for technology and IT systems.
  • Understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting and processing the removal old IT equipment either for sale or environmentally safe disposal.
  • Assisting in the installation and setup of IT equipment.
  • Provide technical support to employees including computer hardware, software, network-related issues, and printer malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical problems, escalating more complex issues to appropriate personnel or vendor.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining user accounts and access permissions.
  • Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity.
  • Help with the management of IT inventory and asset tracking.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT documentation, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Stay updated on the latest technology trends and recommend improvements to enhance our IT infrastructure.

  • Processing extensive medical records by organizing such records based on medical providers and dates of service
  • Processing itemized billing statements and reflect insurance payments and/or adjustments in an organized spreadsheet
  • Processing invoices for medical records and billing statements
  • Requesting checks in accordance with received invoices
  • Mailing checks to medical providers
  • Following up on requested medical records and billing statements in a timely manner
  • Reviewing accident reports and provided details in order to open new case files in software program
  • Processing mail including scanning, notating and saving to file
  • Confirming outstanding provider balances and updating balances accordingly
  • Updating firm’s database with contact information for medical providers
  • Conducting client meetings to sign documents, pick up checks, etc. as needed by Paralegal

  • Personally handle a caseload of Social Security disability cases from initial through the hearing level.
  • Assist and provide guidance to paralegals with their Social Security disability caseloads.
  • Handle extensive client interaction, including intake review and subsequent communications.
  • Read and summarize sometimes voluminous medical records.
  • Prepare briefs and requests for on the record decisions to achieve successful resolutions on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare clients for hearing and appear before Administrative Law Judges to advocate on behalf of disabled clients at hearings.
  • Have active involvement in all phases of client representation from initial office conferences, case development, hearings, and appellate advocacy.
  • Conduct opening and closing statements, cross examination of vocational witnesses and have a thorough familiarity with the record of each case.
