Abby Bowman is a compassionate legal professional dedicated to supporting clients who are navigating Social Security Disability claims. Her work is rooted in empathy, advocacy, and the belief that everyone deserves access to the support they need.
Abby began her career at Deuterman Law Group in 2021 as a paralegal. Driven by a desire to play a bigger role in helping her clients and to make a meaningful impact on their cases, she became an Accredited Disability Representative in the law firm’s Social Security Disability department.
In that role, she works closely with the team’s attorneys, reviewing cases and preparing them for appeal and hearing. A key part of Abby’s work is strengthening clients’ initial claims for Social Security Disability benefits as well as at the reconsideration phase following an initial denial.
Having an accredited disability representative working alongside attorneys and paralegals contributes to more efficient case development and stronger advocacy for clients. Abby’s proactive involvement in developing evidence, including preparation of detailed work history reports, work activity reports (Form 821s), and Disability Determination Services Immediate Pay letters, has been instrumental in securing faster approvals on appropriate cases and presenting stronger cases at the hearing level.
Abby has a deep level of compassion and respect for her clients, and she is committed to guiding them through the often difficult and confusing process of applying for and securing the disability benefits to which they’re entitled.
Abby’s, whose father was in the Army, spent her early childhood in Hawaii and New York before moving to the Triad at age 7. She graduated from Andrews High School in High Point.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from UNCG in 2023 while working as a paralegal at Deuterman Law. While finishing her degree, she also interned with Legal Aid of North Carolina, helping people with public health benefits, Social Security Disability claims, Medicaid benefits and eviction cases.
