Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills are a must
  • Strong listening skills and ability to empathize with potential clients while remaining professional
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced work environment
  • Self starter, eager to learn, and willing to work
  • Good computer skills and willingness to learn new computer programs
  • Previous experience in Personal Injury and/or Social Security Disability a plus

Responsibilities

  • Requesting medical records and billing statements from various medical providers
  • Navigating online provider portals to obtain invoices, medical records, and billing statements
  • Processing extensive medical records by organizing such records based on medical providers and dates of service
  • Processing itemized billing statements and reflect insurance payments and/or adjustments in an organized spreadsheet
  • Processing invoices for medical records and billing statements
  • Requesting checks in accordance with received invoices
  • Mailing checks to medical providers
  • Following up on requested medical records and billing statements in a timely manner
  • Reviewing accident reports and provided details in order to open new case files in software program
  • Processing mail including scanning, notating and saving to file
  • Confirming outstanding provider balances and updating balances accordingly
  • Updating firm’s database with contact information for medical providers
  • Conducting client meetings to sign documents, pick up checks, etc. as needed by Paralegal
  • Mailing various letters and documents to clients, providers, and insurance companies as directed by Paralegal
  • Processing initial paperwork signed by clients
  • Preparing demand packages for review before sending to insurance adjusters
  • Sending out demand packages via email and/or mail
  • Updating checklists based on tasks completed
