Christine Burnside Re-Elected to NOSSCR Board of Directors

Awards, Deuterman Law Group, Press Releases, Social Security Disability,

Deuterman Law Group is proud to announce that Christine Burnside, Managing Attorney of our Social Security Disability department, has been re-elected as the Fourth Circuit Representative to the Board of Directors of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR).

NOSSCR is the nation’s specialized bar association for attorneys and advocates who represent Social Security disability claimants. Its members work across the country to protect and strengthen the disability benefits system, advocating on Capitol Hill, tracking regulatory changes at the Social Security Administration, and educating the practitioners who guide claimants through one of the most complex processes in federal law.

As Fourth Circuit Representative, a seat that also covers the D.C. Circuit, Christine serves a two-year term on the NOSSCR Board of Directors, helping shape the organization’s legislative goals and member programming.

She also acts as the voice of the region’s practitioners: keeping NOSSCR members across the Fourth Circuit informed about events, calls to action, and regulatory updates, and bringing the pain points and issues those members encounter back to the national board.

A Growing Role in National Leadership

This re-election continues a steady rise in national leadership for Christine. She has served on NOSSCR’s board since 2023, when she became Assistant Secretary of NextGen, NOSSCR’s community for attorneys who are under 40 or have fewer than 10 years of experience in Social Security law.

In 2024, she was elected to her first term as Fourth Circuit Representative. Christine has also served as co-chair of NOSSCR’s Mentorship Committee since 2024, reflecting her longstanding passion for mentoring newer disability practitioners.

With this re-election, she has been appointed to the organization’s Awards Committee as well.

What This Means for Our Clients

Christine’s national role is more than an honor; it is an advantage for the people we serve. Social Security disability law changes constantly, and her seat at the table means DLG’s Social Security team hears about regulatory shifts, policy developments, and emerging issues as they happen, not after the fact.

Christine joined Deuterman Law Group in 2012 and is one of a select group of Board Certified Specialists in Social Security Disability Law in North Carolina. She has presented at NOSSCR conferences across the country, educating her peers on the law she practices every day in service of disabled North Carolinians.

Please join us in congratulating Christine on her re-election.
